After we left the Waitomo Caves we headed over to Rotorua. We had both heard of an extreme sport called Zorbing. I was really looking forward to doind this, because it was inexpensive and still very fun. Do you know the feeling of being a little kid, when you would lay down on the grass atop a hill and then roll down the hill? Wasn't that fun? Zorbing is basically taking that child-like feeling and enhancing it with an inflatable ball.
There are two options to Zorb. You can do the dry zorb or the hydro zorb. We chose the hydro zorb, because we were told it was more fun. To do that we would need to put our swimsuits on and jump inside a very large inflatable ball which has warm water inside. After the ball was been sealed shut, we stood up to walk in the ball (kind of like a hamster does in one of those hamster balls...you know what I'm talking about) until we are rolling down the hill.
It almost felt like a waterslide, except you are contained in one space. Plus you can do this with friends, as Torey and I choose to do. I think it would have been fun to do again, but we already had plans for the evening. If anyone goes to New Zealand, they must try this. It was so much fun. When I return I will do this again.

Zorbing...Cool! Never heard of it before..I'm sure you had lot of fun doing this:)
Holy cow that looks fun!
Amazing experience, both zorbing and the cave, should have been.
Cool pics
TP- It was so cool. If we had known it would be so much fun then we would have paid for the three pack. It was really cold outside after you got out of the ball though...atlesat they provided towels. It would be fun for the whole family.
Dav-It totally was fun. You would have loved it.
Ajeya rao- You will have to try this when you get there. It is an experience and super mellow on the adeventure side. It wouldn't scare anyone, just put smiles on their faces.
Wow! I'm so impressed with the zorbing experience. I've never ever heard of such a thing, but it sounds like FUN!
How do you go inside a watery bubble and still breathe as you're going down, though? Maybe there is something I misunderstood?
Mo-They only put a little bit of water in the zorb ball (so you don't stick to the plastic as you are rolling down). And before they seal it up they put some oxygen in as well...but I assume they have emergency evacuation too, if necessary.
