I read a lot about Milford Sound, a beautiful fiord, which is located in the largest national park in New Zealand, Fiordland. The scenery is said to be inspiring. There is only one road that leads to Milford Sound, and it takes about five hours to get there on a chartered bus. We thought about driving our campervan, but the fear of ice and chains convinced us to buy a package deal. We travelled in the comfort of not having to know where we were going, having a bus driver who knew all the best places to stop for pictures, and we got a boat ride in Milford Sound as well.
After an early start we were on our way. I slept a little bit, but was awake to get out each time we stopped along the way. It was beautiful just getting there. I also enjoyed the boat tour. I had one complaint with our tour company, whom mislead us into thinking the boat tour would be two hours. The brochure said it was for two hours, however in the winter months it only runs for one hour. The boat takes you to the exact same stops, but still, I was looking forward to being out on the water a little longer. When I walked into their office to complain, they didn't seem to care. The girl told me that she would, "make a note of it," but never once did I see her write anything down. That bugs me. Anyhow, I will not write a lot in this post, but rather want the pictures to speak for themselves.
