I miss traveling. I love my job and I enjoy the comforts of home, but I crave the adventures of traveling. It is always so different from my own life that it is thrilling to experience. I miss that. I recently found out that a guy,
There is something fantastic about being young and traveling. We are willing to sacrifice comfort for a lumpy bed in a cheap hostel. We forget peace and quiet by dealing with snoring roommates and no air conditioning. Yet we relish the open air markets and finding the perfect souvinier which we haggled for. We get lost and love it. We meet strangers in hostels who suddenly make the best company and we do everything together. We deal with long bus rides, because that's what the locals do. I love it all and I miss it.
I have been thinking a lot about taking a trip around the world. Not just any trip, but one that lasts for a whole year. I would have to work in the process, but I think it can be done. I have been reading a book about working around the world. I could be a fruit picker and follow the summer. I once read in a book, that the longer you travel somewhere the cheaper it is. I could see so much of the world and still barely scratch the surface. I want to do that. I think I am afraid. I'm afraid of going alone. I'm afraid of not having enough money. I'm afraid that I will miss other important opportunities. I'm afraid of having to sell my car, which I love. But I want to go. It is a dream of mine. If everything in my life went the way I wanted, then I would find the love of my life, get married, and then would take the trip around the world for a honeymoon experience. And then when we got back a year later we would get back to work and have a family...Man, I love to travel. Maybe one day I will build up the courage to follow this dream and instead of wishing for more I will be writing about it!

That's Awesome!
Nice one, Tracy. I checked out Chris' blog and you weren't kidding. He takes very good pictures.
Dav- :)
CP- He has a really good website, it certainly makes me want to travel to all the same locations! It is good to hear from you too!
I noticed that Chris travelled to India but didn't visit the South where you find the most gentle of Indians.
You must visit India and particularly the South, home of some of the most historically significant temples and I can certainly promise some good hiking. :)
I remember Chris Schwalm...and his younger brother was in my 12th grade english class, or "language arts" as they say now. Anyway, so I think I'm going to Argentina this summer! That's the plan for now and I think it will all work out nice. You should come visit me!
You echoed my thoughts exactly, but I couldn't have put it into writing as beautifully as you have. :)
Hi, today I was travelling in blog land and hopped on here from CouchPotato's blog. It is very late in the night now and I hope to check out your blog in more detail later. Also hope you get to visit India soon. Happy travelling.
I may not be that athletic at the moment but I am becoming so. I play basketball twice a week and soccer once...I think that is pretty sporty. Not everything is a competition but when I want to go places that you have been and can't because I'm poor it sucks :)
Tracy - Wow! Thanks a lot for all the photography comments(someone just sent me this website). Great blog,it looks like you have been on some adventures. I remember when I was contemplating my big around the world trip, I was so afraid of quitting my job (which I loved). But I never regretted it for a minute. You'll see, a year isn't that long, you'll come back and everything will be the same, everything but you and the 1 million experience that you have had in the past year. Go for it. - Chris Schwalm (www.cjschwalm.com)(shoot me an email if you want to talk about "RTW Traveling")
