It Pays...

It pays to be a good employee. It is always worth it to do your best in a job, because you never know how it will help you in the future. Let me explain how it has paid off for me. Last weekend I was talking with my brother about going to Alaska and I told him how much I loved being in there. It would be really fun to go there next again. So I started brain storming. I came up with a crazy idea. What if I went out there during the last three weeks of August? Of course, I can't afford to buy another plane ticket this year, but maybe there was a way that the company I worked for would work with me.

So I emailed my previous employer, The Klondike Gold Dredge, and gave them an offer. If they would pay for my plane ticket then I would work for them for three weeks for free. Of course they would need to provide weekends off and a room for me to stay in. Well, they called me last night and agreed to the crazy offer! Isn't that cool? So right now they are making plans to buy me a plane ticket and I will fly out there at the end of July and be there again! So once again, my blog will be about Alaska. Seriously, I am so blessed. Of course, I know I will have to work for them, but that is no skin off my back...I liked working there and I will get the weekends to hike and camp! Woohoo!

4 MORE DAYS UNTIL I LEAVE FOR NEW ZEALAND AND SINGAPORE!!

Sweet. I wonder if my employer would do the same.... oh wait, I was never employed in Alaska...oh wait- I've never been to Alaska. Oh well. :)

Wow! Wish I could get something like that when I travel. I just have one question. What will you eat?

mridula- Congradulations! I hope that you are choosen.

TP-I can't wait to start posting...one more day until I leave.

Dav-Maybe your next trip should be to Alaska. I bet your airline doesn't fly there, but maybe you can get a deal with a sister airline? It is beautiful there.

CP- Good question. I have thought about food, I promise. I figure that I would have to pay for food if I was here, so that should be my only cost. And, I'm actually thinking of buying a few items here, packing them in a box to take as a piece of luggage. That will save money since all the food is shipped on a barge in Alaska!

Guess what everybody! I leave tomorrow!
